Elsie’s tiny cabin in Orlando Florida
Staying in or near Orlando and need an escape from the city life? There is no where more fitting than this boho lakefront tiny cabin. Located only about 18 minutes away from downtown Orlando Florida, this cabin gives you complete solitude from the outside world. The hosts are tiny home builders and glamping enthusiasts. Along side of El Nido (the tiny cabin) they also have a vintage pop up camper that hosts guests on their quarter acre property as well. Decorated by beautiful Cuban and Mexican decor inside and outside of the cabin you can’t deny how much time and effort was put into making this property feel incredibly welcoming and cozy. It’s the perfect mix of privacy & freedom while there are privacy fences but also the ability to have perfect access to the lake to enjoy the kayak or stand up paddle board. Coming in at a overall rating of 4.95/5 on Airbnb there is no mistaking everyone raves about their amazing experience at this lakeside cabin.
What to expect?
From the time you book, up until you leave the hosts make everything about your booking seamless and magical. When we first arrived at Elsies we were unsure what to expect since we booked this location without a ton of research first (reckless I know but it turned out okay). When you arrive for your stay you’re greeted with lights guided along a pathway that takes you from the driveway to the backyard. You’ll walk through a beautifully laid out garden with unique decor that makes you feel like you’re at a beach getaway. You’ll quickly come in to sight of your Tiny cabin located on the far left of the properties edge. Here you’ll find your small corner of paradise to have everything you could want and need. The property is located directly beside the lake where you’ll also have access to the owners kayak and stand up paddle board. I highly recommend taking these out around sunset for an unforgettable view all to yourself. The owners were extremely responsive for anything we needed throughout our stay. They even have a list of recommendations of restaurants nearby that is posted in the cabin. There are many things throughout the cabin to make you more comfortable throughout your stay such as the most comfortable Californian king bed I’ve ever slept in, black out curtains to ensure you can sleep in, a gas grill, fully stocked kitchen, A/C that gets the room freezing cold, access to paddle board and kayaks, bikes, wifi, lists of recommendations, and nothing compares to the view they have designed the cabin around to ensure you can literally watch the sunrise from laying in your bed. You truly could not ask for more.
About the Property Itself
Alongside the easy access getting to your cabin in the back yard, we were blown away immediately with the astonishing multi color sunset that hung across the entire sky that you have the absolute best view of since you are directly on the lake. After you walk in and get comfortable you won’t be able to help but notice how talented your hosts really are. There was so much precise dedication put in to making this home look and feel like you are at a tropical getaway. The unique decor is a mixture of Cuban and Mexican pieces that flow together to create a beautiful blend of rich culture that fits perfectly with the asthetic of the entire property. Rich pops of blues and purples and reds make each room come to life with personality.
There are 2 huge glass doors in the main room, which is also the bedroom, that lead you outside. You can prop these doors open for the best sunset or sunrise experience while you stay in the warmth of your bed. Step directly outside on to the beautifully mulched property where you are maybe 20 feet from the lake itself. Directly outside of your 2 huge open glass doors that overlooks the lake, you will find a little nook designed for your comfort while relaxing outdoors.
Firstly, the hanging lights string overtop of you and the cabin to make any night romantic and cozy. The area is mulched pristinely and atop it sits lounge chairs perfectly situated for a stunning view, your privacy fences ensure you are able to take in the view and relax without the worry of running in to anyone else that may be staying there. There is a fire pit beside the cabin that makes the perfect spot for sunset s’mores. Take about 5 steps to the lake where you have a gorgeous view any time of the day. Sunrise and Sunset are able to both be seen from the comfort of your king size bed. You absolutely have to take advantage of the paddle board and kayak. The lake is enormous and gives you plenty of space to explore with your boards. The entire property is worth raving about. I haven’t been anywhere that has given me the experience and tranquility this backyard escape has. We never ran in to anyone while we were here and felt super secluded even though we were in a backyard. Everything was catered to make you feel comfortable while offering you plenty to do. Keep in mind this property is catered for adults and does not accommodate for children, they also do not allow pets on property.

We originally chose this listing because of it’s convenient proximity to everything we needed. El Nido is located only around 18 minutes from downtown Orlando. It’s situated in the suburbs outside of the city where we had no issue with noise or any outside disruptions. We specifically came to Orlando to go to Disney, although we drove 45 minutes to get there, the traffic was minimum and after a 10 hour drive from Tennessee, 45 minutes felt like nothing and we were happy to get out of the city after a long day at Disney and back to our escape.
When it comes to food our hosts made sure we never had to search endlessly for somewhere to eat. They kindly have a framed list in their kitchen that has their recommendations of local places to eat. They even have examples of date night ideas that includes fun things around the city. So much thought was put into making our stay more comfortable. We chose to eat at Catrina’s Mexican Fusion which was only about 5-10 minutes away from the cabin. The authentic Mexican food was incredible and they also had karaoke, the whole place had such an upbeat fun vibe.
How to book:
We booked our stay through Airbnb. It was one of the more popular stays in the area so I recommend making your reservations in advance.
